Odystria is a Minecraft 1.21.1 server and modpack built on the core pillars of questing, colonization, trade, and travel. This isn’t for those who seek out shortcuts — it’s for ambitious builders, scrupulous traders, patient explorers, and courageous adventurers.
The Four Pillars of Odystria
Questing
Your adventure begins in the capital city of Gerthia, with nothing but the clothes on your back. It would be wise to seek out some coin to feed and equip yourself. Partake in quests powered by CustomNPCs, or seek out bounties with Bountiful. Engage in story-driven questlines to unlock access to dungeons, or explore the world hunting for mythical roaming world bosses hoarding vast treasure.
Colonization
Had your fill of quests? Settle down anywhere in the vast open world, created with Terralith and Tectonic. You can join a colony, or start your own colony, using Minecolonies. And if you’re not a colonist, feel free to build anywhere you’d like. Just understand that if a colony swoops in and occupies your land, you may be powerless to resist them.
Also, heed this warning: however far away you choose to live is how far away you’ll need to travel if you hope to return to civilization.
Trade
Adventurers are encouraged to participate in a global economy, fueled by Lightman’s Currency and featuring CustomNPCs banks. Start a shop in Gerthia or your own colony. Tell others about your wares, and keep your stores well stocked for your customers. Negotiate trade deals between your colony and others. And participate in large-scale trade quests that are nearly impossible for one person to tackle on their own.
Travel
If you’re hoping for waystones or magical teleporting road signs to lighten the burden of travel … think again. On Odystria, travel is manual and time-consuming. But don’t worry: you don’t have to do it all on foot.
You’ll want to consider building roads and bridges to connect your colony or frontier home with the rest of the world. This can help travelers who are walking, riding horseback, or making use of Astikor Carts or Trotting Wagons.
